Canyonlands & Arches

Canyonlands & Arches: From Cat Holes to Cocktails
Los Boyz were back in action—OG style—for a classic desert double feature: backpacking in Canyonlands and arch-bagging in Arches. This latest epic was conceived and produced by none other than Eric, now proudly operating under the alias ET Travel. Snyde and Mitch eagerly signed on, packs were loaded, flights were booked, and the Boyz rendezvoused at the Red Cliffs Lodge on the banks of the mighty Colorado River.
After a hearty meal and a few celebratory rounds, the adventure launched.First stop: Arches National Park for a day of arch bagging—Landscape, Panorama,Mesa and more all fell to the Boyz. We made a plan to return a couple days later for a sunset pilgrimage to the iconic Delicate Arch—the crown jewel of the park and the ultimate arch experience.
Then we were off to Needles Outpost, just outside Canyonlands, for some luxury car camping. Lil Smokey fired up, steaks hit the grill, wine and beers flowed, and spirits soared beneath those classic red rock cliffs.
Next morning, it was go-time. Packs loaded with all the water we’d need, we trekked into the Needles District, claiming CP5 one of the best sites in Chesler Park. A day hike to Druid Arch and a bonus detour to The Joint slot canyon served up nonstop scenery and excitement. The only hiccup? A sneaky raven caught Mitch sleeping and made off with his most tasty food. Luckily, Tang ran a successful salvage op on the cheese, and dinner went on as planned.
With our water gone, packs light and our thirst for adventure slaked, we hiked back out and transitioned into hotel life like pros. The plan was one more night of camping at Dead Horse Point, but a surprise storm of rain, sleet, snow, and gusty winds had other ideas. No worries—Los Boyz pivoted without flinching: cold beers, hearts games, jacuzzi hangs, and Moab fine dining.
Once again, Los Boyz proved they’re just as skilled swapping boots for bathrobes as they are navigating slot canyons. Cat holes to cocktails? That’s a wrap.
